NEW ULM, Minn. - For the first time in five matches and the first time in UMAC play, MLC women's soccer struggled.
Northwestern put four past MLC in the first half and secured the 6-0 conference win on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles got a pair of goals from Marie Kendall and a hat trick from Naomi Meehan. Kendall scored in the 10th minute after Ada Meehan provided a perfect pass in front of the goal. Kendall doubled the lead in the 33rd minute with a perfect shot into the top right corner.
Meehan scored twice in less than two minutes in the first half and then early in the second half. All three goals came off of rebounds after MLC goalkeeper
Maria Vik made saves, but could not hang onto the wet ball.
Ada Meehan scored the final goal for the Eagles in the 64th minute after Vik mishandled a cross.
Northwestern outshot the Knights 42-1 overall and 18-0 on goal. Vik finished with 12 saves.
