ST. PAUL - The Martin Luther College volleyball team saw its season come to an end in a 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-12) defeat at Northwestern in the semifinal round of the UMAC Tournament on Wednesday.
The top-seeded Eagles won the first set, and held off the Knights in the second to take a commanding 2-0 lead before closing strong in the third to finish the sweep.
UNW hit .289 on the attack for the match compared to .113 for MLC.
Jade St. Germaine led the Knights with 13 kills, while
Kira Grev recorded 11 kills and hit .308 to go with eight digs.
Emily Byhardt had a strong night, as well, recording 13 assists and 12 digs.
Emily Neeb led the Knights with 15 digs.
The Knights finished the season with a record of 11-22 with the loss. UNW improved to 29-4 on the season, and advanced to the Championship Game of the UMAC Tournament with the win.Â
