Women Compete in Final Tune-Up at St. Thomas

RESULTS 

ST. PAUL - The Martin Luther College women's track and field team competed in the Tommie Twilight meet at St. Thomas in the team's final tune-up before this weekend's conference championships.

In the Pole Vault, Heidi Kostrzewa set a new school record, vaulting 2.67 meters to finished 15th at the event. The previous record was 2.44, set by Beth Ibisch in 2000.

Jade St. Germaine finished tenth in the Long Jump and 11th in the Hammer Throw, while Emily Muir took 13th in the Long Jump with a personal-best jump of 4.62 meters.

Charlotte Huebner (tenth in the Javelin Throw) and Cassandra Anklam (11th in the Shot Put) also took home strong finishes. 

Rachel Winer was the top MLC performer in the running events, finishing 13th in the 100 Meters, and 26th in a deep field in the 400 Meters.

MLC will return to action this weekend, when it participates in the UMAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Minnesota Morris. The two-day event kicks off Friday.
