NEW ULM, Minn. - Martin Luther College senior
Kira Grev recorded the 1,000th dig of her volleyball career in Tuesday's match against Minnesota Morris.
Grev entered the contest with 995 for her career, and finished the match with nine to push her past the milestone. She is the 10th player in MLC volleyball program history to reach the 1,000 digs milestone.
This is the second time Grev has recorded the 1,000th of something this year. Earlier this season, Grev reached 1,000 career kills, becoming the fifth player in program history to reach that mark. She is now one of three players in program history to have at least 1,000 career kills and digs, joining Lisa Gawrisch (1997-2000) and Rebecca Engelbrecht (2010-13).
Grev's accomplishments go beyond statistical milestones. The outside hitter is a three-time First Team All-UMAC performer, as well.
Grev and the Knights will return to action on Wednesday, October 18, when they travel to Buena Vista for a non-conference match.
