Grace Schultz Named UMAC Player of the Week

NEW ULM, Minn. - Martin Luther College senior Grace Schultz was named UMAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

Schultz earned the honor after averaging 15.3 points and 10.3 rebounds in three games to open the season last week. Schultz also added 14 steals and seven assists to help the Knights to a 1-2 record during that stretch.

Schultz saved her best performance for Friday's 69-60 win over Augsburg when she finished with 18 points (7-12 FG, 4-6 FT), 13 rebounds, five steals and three assists. She also recorded a double-double in Wednesday's one-point loss at Saint Mary's to open the season.

With the help of a strong opening week, Schultz moved into third place in program history with 944 career points. She also moved into fifth place with 182 career steals, and entered the season third in career made field goals (349). She ranks just outside the top five in program history in career three-pointers (74), rebounds (486) and free throws (172).

Schultz and the Knights will return to action Tuesday, November 21, when they host St. Olaf in a game scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
