ROCHESTER, Minn. - The Martin Luther College softball team returned to the Rochester Dome for a second consecutive weekend of games. Friday night, the Knights lost 9-0 to Millikin University, and then against Luther College by the score of 13-0.
Millikin 9, MLC 0 (5 innings)The Knights opened the day with a 9-0 loss against Millikin in five innings.Â
MU scored twice in both the first and second innings, and then added five more runs in the fourth to put the game away.
MLC starting pitcher
Kathryn Marquardt fell to 0-3 on the season after allowing all nine runs (seven earned) on eight hits and one walk in 4.0 innings of work.
The Knights finished the game with three hits, with
Audrey Timm,
Kayla Rosenbaum and
Janelle Radue each finishing with one apiece.
Luther 13, MLC 0 (5 innings)MLC was unable to come up with a win in the second game of the day, losing the night cap to Luther College 13-0 in five innings.
Luther scored three runs in four of the five innings, and finished the game with 16 hits off MLC starter
Kelli Doell, who fell to 0-2 on the season in defeat.Â
The Knights were also hurt by four errors, leading to five unearned runs in the game.Â
Megan Lemke registered the lone hit for MLC.
MLC fell to 0-6 on the season with the two defeats, and will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, March 5), when it plays against Saint Mary's (10 a.m.) and Macalester (2:30 p.m.) at the Rochester Dome.
