After serving as Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Knights from 2016-19, Max Pagel took over as the school's Head Athletic Trainer in August of 2020. Pagel is employed through the New Ulm Medical Center*, which is part of Allina Health.
As Assistant Athletic Trainer, Pagel was the main contact for the soccer and cross country teams in the fall, while also working at several local high schools during the school years. As Head Athletic Trainer for the Knights, Pagel will now be the primary contact for all 16 of MLC's varsity sports.
Pagel received his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from Minnesota State University-Mankato, and his Masters degree from North Dakota State University. Prior to his time at MLC, Pagel worked as a graduate assistant at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and was also employed at OSR Physical Therapy in Chaska, MN.
*New Ulm Medical Center is a nonprofit hospital and clinic serving the region in and around Brown County located in south central Minnesota. NUMC is part of the Allina Health System, which serves much of Minnesota and eastern Wisconsin. NUMC offers an extensive range of care options with over 30 affiliated physicians and a full complement of visiting specialists. NUMC has supplied MLC with Sports Medicine coverage for more than 20 years. The Sports Medicine team includes Athletic Trainers, Orthopedic Surgeons, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and many other physicians and specialties.
