FULTON, Mo. - The Martin Luther College football team lost 61-7 at Westminster on Saturday.
The Knights scored on their opening possession, but were held off the scoreboard the rest of the way, while Westminster finished with 565 total yards (369 on the ground) on the way to 61 total points. The Blue Jays also scored off a punt return and fumble recovery in the win.
MLC finished with 196 rushing, but was unable to get much going in the air, finishing with only 61 yards passing for the game.
Quarterback
Matt Olson finished with nine carries for a team-high 82 yards on the ground, and also passed for 49 yards. He scored the lone touchdown for MLC on the day with a seven-yard run in the first quarter.
Josh Rathje was the top receiver for MLC with five catches and 52 yards.
Eddie Endicott contributed on the ground with 43 rushing yards.
MLC fell to 2-5 overall and 1-5 in UMAC play in defeat, while Westminster improved to 5-2 on the season and 5-1 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, October 24, when they host Greenville. That game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m.
