NEW ULM, Minn - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team was unable to get enough going offensively in a 63-47 loss to UW-Superior on Saturday.
The two teams battled defensively in the firt quarter, but the Yellowjackets were able to get control of the game with a strong second stanza to take a 30-19 lead into the half.
MLC hung around in the third quarter, out-scoring UWS to cut the deficit to seven heading into the fourth, but was unable to get anything to fall the down the stretch. The Knights scored 13 points in the final quarter, 11 of which came from the foul line as the Yellowjackets began to pull away.
The Knights finished the game with a season-low field goal percentage of 22.4, while UWS shot 36.4 from the field. MLC forced 25 Yellowjacket turnovers in the game, but was unable to take advantage of the miscues with 12 points off those turnovers.

Faith Schroeder each scored ten points to lead the Knights. Schroeder also led the team with eight rebounds.Â
MLC fell to 2-4 overall and 1-1 in UMAC play with the loss. UWS improved its record to 5-2 on the season and 2-0 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, December 12, when they travel to Bethany Lutheran. That game is scheduled to tip off at 5 p.m.
