NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team rolled to a 4-0 win over North Central on Saturday in a non-conference game.
The game was tied 0-0 at the half, but the Knights exploded out of the gates with an
Aaron Markgraf goal just 27 seconds after the start of the second half to give MLC a 1-0 lead.
The Knights dominated the match in the second half, and started to pull away in the 62nd minute thanks to a
Elijah Kroll goal from
Aaron Swanson and
Nathan Graumann to make it 2-0 MLC.
Swanson scored in the 70th minute to put the game away, and
Colin Bahmer finished the scoring in the 81st minute with his first of the season.
Markgraf's goal gave him four this season, while Swanson's score pushed his team-best total to six. Kroll's goal was his second this season.
Markgraf finished with a team-best five total shots.
Caleb King and
Gabriel Plocher combined to stop five NCU shots in goal for MLC to preserve the shutout.Â
The Knights improved to 4-3 on the season with the win. NCU fell to 1-5 in defeat.
MLC will return to action on Wednesday, September 23, when it hosts Bethany Lutheran in a match scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
