NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team struggled to slow down UW-Superior inside or outside in a 93-73 loss on Saturday.
UWS outrebounded the Knights 45-30, leading a 21-2 advantage in second chance points. The Yellowjackets also outscored the Knights from beyond the three-point arc 30-15.
The Yellowjackets made eight three-pointers in the first half, helping them to a 45-38 halftime lead.
MLC struggled on both ends to open the second half, missing 14 of its first 15 shots to open the half as UWS pushed the lead to 62-41 with 12:46 to play in the game.
TJ Babinec led MLC with 20 points.
Jeffrey Parker and
Ian Paulsen each scored 12 points, while
Josh VonDeylen added 11 points. Parker also led the team with eight assists.Â
The Knights fell to 1-10 on the season and 0-5 in UMAC play in defeat. UWS improved to 2-10 overall and 1-4 in conference play with the win.
MLC will return to action on Friday, January 6, against Northland. That game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m.
