NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team could not slow down Minnesota Morris in a 94-61 loss on Friday.
The Knights battled throughout the first half, holding the Cougars to 35.9 percent shooting and pulling with six with just over one minute to play, but UMM closed the half on a 7-0 run in the final minute to take a 43-30 lead into the break.
The Cougars got going on offense in the second half, shooting 63.3 percent while holding MLC to 36.1 percent as they pulled away for the win.
Ian Paulsen led MLC with 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks.
Austin DeNoyer added 12 points in 23 minutes off the bench, while
Josh VonDeylen scored eight points off the bench.
MLC fell to 1-17 overall and 0-10 in UMAC play in defeat. UMM improved to 10-9 on the season and 5-5 in league action with the win.
The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, January 28) when they host Crown College in a game scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
