MINNEAPOLIS - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team fell behind in the opening seconds of their game at Augsburg and were never able to recover in a 6-0 defeat on Monday.
The Auggies scored on a long shot six seconds into the game, and then added two more first half goals to take a 3-0 lead into the half.
The Knights were able to generate some chances and were credited with 13 total shots (five on goal), but were unable to get anything past the Augsburg defense the rest of the way. The Auggies added three second half goals to finish the scoring.
Caleb King started in goal for MLC and allowed three goals in the first half. He stopped five shots before
Gabriel Plocher took over in net in the second half.Â
Nathan Graumann was credited with a team-best three shots.
The Knights fell to 5-9 on the season in defeat. Augsburg improved to 7-7-1 with the win.
MLC will return to action tomorrow (Tuesday, October 17) when it hosts Minnesota Morris in a key UMACÂ contest scheduled to start at 3:15 p.m.
