RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The Martin Luther College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader at UW-River Falls by the scores of 9-1 and 13-3 on Thursday.
UWRF 9, MLC 1 (5 innings)
The Falcons broke a scoreless game one open with a five-run third inning on the way to a 9-1 win.
MLC starting pitcher
Morgan Palubicki (3-6) held UWRF scoreless through two innings, but the Falcons sent ten runners to the plate in the third on the way to five runs to take a commanding lead.
Audrey Timm scored for the Knights on a Falcons' miscue in the top of the fourth frame to cut the deficit to 5-1, but UWRF scored once more in the fourth and three times in the fifth to put the game away.
Palubicki allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits in three innings on the mound.

Kelli Doell,
Kayla Rosenbaum and Timm each recorded one hit for MLC.
UWRF 13, MLC 3 (6 innings)
UWRF completed the sweep with a 13-3 win in game two.
The Falcons jumped on top early with six runs in the first inning off Doell (4-4), who started for MLC and lasted only one inning.
Timm provided all the offense for MLC in the fourth inning with a three-run home run to left center that scored Lemke and
Amanda Schoch. The home run was the first of her collegiate career.
MLC fell to 10-13 on the season following the two defeats, while UWRF improved to 10-15 with the two wins.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, April 15, when they travel to St. Scholastica for a doubleheader scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
