SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team was unable to slow down the Dordt College offense in a 4-0 loss on Friday.
The teams played a scoreless first half, but the Defenders came out for the second half with something to prove. Dordt scored twice in the first seven minutes of the second half, and then added two more tallies before the end of regulation to get the final result.
The Defenders were credited with nine total shots, eight of which were on goal. MLC starting keeper
Caleb King stopped a pair of shots while allowing three of the goals, while
Gabriel Plocher stopped one of the two shots he faced in net.
MLC was credited with three shots, two of which were on goal.
Urvin Lewis and
Josh Koelpin had the two shots on frame.
The Knights fell to 4-4 on the season in defeat. Dordt improved to 6-5 with the win.
MLC will return to UMAC play in a game at North Central on Tuesday, October 3. That contest is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
