FULTON, Mo. - The Martin Luther College football team was unable to slow down the high-powered Blue Jays of Westminster College in a 54-6 defeat on Saturday.
The Blue Jays jumped on the Knights from the opening kick, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and 20 more in the second on the way to the win.
The Knights entered the game among the UMAC leaders on offense, but were held to 11 first downs and 143 yards for the game.Â
Ian Paulsen entered the game at quarterback early in the first half and finished with seven completions for 75 yards and one touchdown pass to Josh Schroeder.
Josh Wong led MLC with 27 yards rushing on 12 carries.
Nate Wong led the MLC defense with six total tackles.
The Knights fell to 3-2 on the season and 2-2 in UMAC play in defeat. Westminster improved to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to action on Saturday, October 7, when it hosts UM-Morris in the Homecoming game. That game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m.
