ST. PAUL - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team lost 62-53 at Northwestern (Minn.) in the final game of the season on Saturday.
The Knights started slowly and trailed 16-7 after the first quarter, out-scored the Eagles 18-11 in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 27-25 heading into halftime.
The Eagles were able to push the lead to three points after the third quarter, but MLC tied the game 45-45 after a 
Crystal Carmichael three-point play with 7:51 to play in regulation.
UNW would take control from there with a 13-2 run over the next 5:28 on the way to the win.
Senior 
Grace Schultz led MLC in the final game of her career with 19 points (16 of which came in the second half), 10 rebounds and four steals. She finished her career with 265 steals, just two shy of the school record of 267, and also moved into second place in program history with 666 career rebounds. 
Classmate 
Jade St. Germaine also made her best effort in her final game, scoring 11 points and grabbing nine rebounds. She finished her career fifth in program history with 931 career points and 622 career rebounds.
MLC finished its season with a record of 6-19 overall and 4-12 in UMAC play. UNW improved to 13-12 on the season and 9-7 in league play with the win.
