Women's Soccer Ties Northland 0-0

ASHLAND, Wis. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team played Northland to a 0-0 draw on Saturday.

The two teams battled through regulation and a pair of overtimes, but neither was able to scratch across a goal. 

MLC out-shot the LumberJills 22-10 overall, including an 11-6 edge in shots on goal. In the two overtime periods, MLC out-shot Northland 6-1 overall and 3-0 in shots on goal.

Mollie Fischer stopped all six shots in goal for MLC to record her fifth shutout of the season (second in UMAC competition).

Avery Broyles led MLC with four shots (one shot on goal), while Lydia Bitter and Erika Rosenbaum each finished with three shots.

MLC moved to 5-9-1 on the season and 2-3-1 in UMAC play with the tie, while Northland is now 1-12-1 overall and 1-5-1 in league play.

The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, October 29, when they host Crown College in a game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
