YANKTON, S.D. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team scored its first win of the season by the score of 5-4 at Mount Marty on Tuesday.

Anna Hemmelman played a critical role in the victory, winning her number-one singles match in straight sets (6-2, 6-3), and also teaming with
McKenzey Crowley to win the number-one doubles match 8-6.
The Knights scored the other three points via forfeit, as the Lancers did not have players to compete in the number-three doubles match or the bottom two singles spots.
MLC improved to 1-2 on the season with the win. Mount Marty fell to 0-1 to start its season in defeat.
The Knights will return to action on Friday, February 28, when it plays UW-Stout in a match scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at the Owatonna Tennis Center.
