MORRIS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team could not slow down the shooting of Minnesota Morris in a 110-80 loss in Wednesday's UMAC finale.
The Cougars led from the start and never let up, shooting 53.4 percent for the game and knocking down 17 of 33 attempts from beyond the three-point arc.
On the other end, the Knights. shot 41.2 percent overall and made only three of 18 from downtown.
MLC had success inside, outscoring the Cougars 46-34 in the paint, but UMM's 51-9 advantage from beyond the arc was too much to overcome.
Ian Paulsen led MLC with 24 points on 12-20 shooting from the field.
Austin DeNoyer added 15 poitns and five assists, while
Ethan Eisenmann joined them in double figures with 11 points.
MLC fell to 5-19 overall and finished the UMAC season with a 2-14 conference record following the loss. UMM improved to 8-16 on the season and 4-11 in league play with the win.Â
The Knights will close the season with a game at Maranatha Baptist on Saturday, February 22. That game is scheduled to tip off at 3:15 p.m.
