NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team could not slow down UW-Superior (UWS) in a 7-0 loss on Friday.
Protus Babaya set the tone for UWS early, scoring three times in the first half to give the Yellowjackets a 3-0 halftime lead.
UWS continued to press in the second half, scoring in the 56th and 64th minutes to put the game out of reach, and then adding two goals in the final minutes to get the final margin.
Isaias Santos was the top offensive threat for MLC with two shots.
Josiah Wordell and
Xander Heiman each recorded a shot on goal.
UWS out-shot the Knights 27-5 overall, including a 15-2 edge in shots on goal.
MLC fell to 2-10-0 on the season and 1-8-0 in UMAC play in defeat. UWS improved to 8-6-0 overall and 8-1-0 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, October 16) when they host Northland College in a game scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
