MINNEAPOLIS - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team dropped its final non-conference match of the season by the score of 4-0 at Augsburg on Tuesday.
The Knights knew they would have their hands full against the Auggies, who entered the day tied for second in the MIAC, and Augsburg struck twice early in the first half with goals in the 14th and 19th minutes, respectively to take a 2-0 lead into the break.
The Auggies added a third tally in the 52nd minute to push their lead to four, and then capped the scoring in the 82nd minute en route to the win.
Michael Friesenegger was solid in net for the Knights, stopping 11 of the 15 Augsburg shots on goal in the game and keeping the deficit at four.

The Knights fell to 2-12 on the season in defeat. Augsburg improved to 12-3 with the win.
MLC will return home to resume conference play on Friday, October 22, when it hosts Minnesota Morris in a game scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
