NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team could not slow down the Carleton College offense in a 95-57 defeat on Tuesday.
Carleton took control from the start, racing out to a 24-6 lead after eight minutes and never looking back.
Carleton shot 58.8 percent from the field in the first half and finished the game shooting 56.1 percent. It also made 12 three-pointers and shot 36.4 percent from beyond the three-point arc for the game.
MLC struggled offensively on the other end, shooting 33.8 percent overall and 25.0 percent (4-16) from downtown.
Joseph Hirsch led MLC with 15 points and was the lone player on the Knights in double figures for the game.
Ezra Blumer and
Jack Heichelbech finished with nine and eight points, respectively.
MLC fell to 0-8 on the season in defeat. Carleton improved to 5-2 with the win.
Tuesday's game was the final non-conference tune up for the Knights before UMAC play, which starts this weekend when MLC travels to Northland College for a game scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m.
