NEW ULM, Minn. - Martin Luther College senior running back
Austin DeNoyer became the football program's all-time leading rusher in Sunday's game against Augsburg University.
DeNoyer entered the game 33 yards shy of Matt Olson's (2,720 career yards) record, and broke that total in the Knights' first possession of the game on Sunday. DeNoyer finished the day with 18 carries for 150 yards, giving him 2,837 rushing yards for his career.
The rushing yards record joins several other MLC records held by DeNoyer, including the school single-season record for rushing yards (1,358) last season, as well as the career record for average yards per game (118.2).Â
DeNoyer has the two highest single-season rushing totals in program history, and also ranks third with 32 career touchdowns. This season, DeNoyer leads the Knights with 393 yards and seven touchdows in only three games.
DeNoyer is a two-time First Team All-UMAC performer at running back, and also was named UMAC Most Valuable Offensive Player and D3football.com Third Team All-West Region in 2018, while helping MLC to back-to-back UMAC Championships in 2018 and 2019.
