NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team swept Crown College 9-0 to score its first win of the season on Thursday.
The Knights opened the match with a 3-0 lead thanks to a doubles sweep that included an 8-3 win by the number-one team of 
McKenzey Crowley and 
Josephine Bieberitz, and an 8-0 win by the number-two team of 
Tatum Bollmeier and 
Dana Pietrzyk.
MLC continued to cruise in singles, as Crowley (6-0, 6-0), Bieberitz (6-3, 6-0), Bollmeier (6-2, 6-0), Pietrzyk (6-0, 6-1) and 
Charis Glende (6-0, 6-0) each won in straight sets.
The Knights improved to 1-5 on the season and 1-3 in UMAC play with the win. Crown fell to 0-5 overall and in league play in defeat. 
MLC will return to action tomorrow (Friday, April 23) when they play at Northwestern-St. Paul at 6 p.m.
