Baseball Closes Season with Two Defeats

NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College baseball team finished the 2021 season with a pair of losses to UW-Superior (UWS) by the scores of 15-0 and 13-1 on Saturday.

The Yellowjackets scored at least four times in three different innings on the way to the game-one win, and then scored nine runs in the first three innings of game on the way to completing the sweep.

UWS pitchers Ryan Rodriguez and Elliot Danhoff kept the MLC hitters in check during the two games. Rodriguez allowed only one hit and two walks while striking out 11 in game one, while Danhoff struck out eight and allowed one run in game two.

Mason Cox recorded the lone hit in game one with a double off the center field fence, and then hit a solo home run to right field in game two to produce the Knights' lone run.
