MANKATO, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team's season came to an end with a 2-1 loss at Bethany Lutheran College (BLC) on Saturday.
The game was part of the UMAC Postseason Tournament, with the winner taking fifth place in the event.
BLC took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute and held that lead until halftime, but the Knights started to get more chances in the second half.Â
The Knights missed a great opportunity just after the half on a penalty kick that missed the mark, but
Hannah Schroeder found the equalizer for MLC in the 65th minute with her eighth goal of the season to tie the game 1-1.
The game remained tied until the 86th minute, when BLC's Maddie Perry scored her second goal of the game to put the Vikings ahead and give them the win.
Schroeder finished the game with five total shots, including four shots on goal. Her goal pushed her streak to four straight games with at least one goal to close the season.
Mollie Fischer stopped 10 of the 12 shots she faced in goal for the Knights.Â
MLC finished the season 4-6 following the loss. BLC improved to 4-4 with the win.
