WINONA, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team opened the 2022 season with a 9-0 loss at Saint Mary's University (SMU) on Saturday.

The teams started the match in doubles, where the Cardinals went 3-0 with wins by the scores of 8-0, 8-0 and 8-0.

In singles play, SMU once against swept all six matches in straight sets. 

MLC fell to 0-1 on the season in defeat. SMU improved to 2-0 with the win.

The Knights will return to action on Saturday, February 5, when they play at Macalester in a match scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
