Baseball Falls at BLC 7-0

MANKATO, Minn. - The Martin Luther College baseball team lost its game at Bethany Lutheran College 7-0 on Wednesday.

Zach Klement (0-1) started the game on the mound for the Knights and pitched well in his first start of the season, allowing four runs through seven innings before the Vikings got to him for three runs in the eighth inning to put the game away.

The Vikings broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the third inning, and then added one run in each of the fourth and sixth frames to build a lead.

The Knights could not get the bats going in their opportunities, as the Andrew Deisinger recorded the team's lone hit.

Klement finished the day allowing seven runs on 10 hits while striking out six in the loss.

MLC dropped to 2-15 on the season and 2-5 in UMAC play in defeat. BLC improved to 9-10 overall and 5-3 in league play with the win.

The Knights will return to action on Friday, April 15, when they host North Central University. First pitch for that game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
