The MLC Women's Soccer team came from behind to secure a win in a Friday UMAC matchup against Norhtland, 3-2.
The Knights went up early in the game with a goal from senior
Megan Martin in the 18th minute. The Lumberjills came back and answered with two goals by Liberty Dickerson in the 24th minute and then in the 26th minute. The Knights followed up in the 54th minute with a great goal from
Nicole Porter, with an assist from Sam Colvin. Then, a foul against Northland in the 61st minute inside the penalty box blew open the door for the Knights to take back their lead. Cool, calm, and collected
Kaitlin Butler put the penalty goal in as the Knights would go on to hold on to the lead for the rest of the game.
With a total of 31 shots from both teams combined, the offense of both teams suffered very little in a competitive matchup on the cool Friday September day.Â
Women's Soccer plays next on September 24th at home against UW-Superior.
