MLC Men's Soccer team lost against Northland 2-1 in a Friday UMAC matchup.
In a very physical game, the Knights jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 24th minute thanks to a goal from senior
Xander Heiman. He was assisted on a deep ball from
Lucas Martin and supported by
Josiah Wordell. Heiman headed the ball in for his second goal of the season. Two goals by Izaak Clarke in the 49th and 79th minute gave the Lumberjacks the win.
Knights keeper
Adam Rosenbaum played another great game, having nine saves on the day. The defenders for the Knights were constantly pushing the ball up the pitch to Martin and Heiman.
Caleb Hengst and
Seth Hackbarth used their pace and physicality on the back line to challenge the Lumberjacks with their dribbling and long passes.Â
It was a very chippy game as Northland came away with 5 yellow cards. The Knights maintained composure throughout the game. The men have continued to improve this season and will look to keep that going as conference play goes on.
