YellowJackets Use Second Half Surge to Defeat the Knights

New Ulm, MN - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team lost its UMAC game to UW-Superior 5-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The wind played a factor right from the beginning, altering passes and shots from both squads, but the Yellowjackets found the back of the net first with a header by Niya Wilson in the 33rd minute.

The score would remain 1-0 until UW-Superior would put together four unanswered goals, including three from Kamryn Hill, in the span of 14 minutes in the second period.

Emma Slayton put the Knights on the board at the 77th minute off of a free kick, notching her first career goal.

Reba Schroeder gathered nine saves as the goalie and did her best to stop the aggressive Yellowjackets' attack.

Up next for the MLC women's soccer team (4-10-2) is a home game against Northwestern on Wednesday, October 25. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on the MLC soccer pitch.
