St. Peter, MN - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team faced off against the Northwestern Eagles at the Swanson Tennis Center on Sunday, April 2. The Eagles had a firm handle on all matches, defeating MLC
9-0.
Matthew Koelpin and
Brian Friesenegger had a close (5-8) defeat in their number-three doubles match, as the Knights dropped all three matches.
In singles play the Knights struggled to get much traction and were swept in the six matches on Sunday. However,
Josiah Wordell once again battled tough in his number-one match against Stewart Morrell. The left-hander would fall (3-6, 1-6), but proved his status as the top singles player for the Knights' men's squad.
MLC (1-5) turns around and travels to Waverly, Iowa for another tennis match on Monday, April 3 against Wartburg.
