Winona, MN - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team fell to the Saint Mary's Cardinals 4-0 in the season opener on Friday.
Saint Mary's did their damage early on in the first period scoring two goals within the 15 minute mark. Both goals were from their forward, Cohan Hare. The Cardinals found the net for another pair of goals shortly afterwards when Aidan Adamek scored at the 19:56 and 21:41 mark. This time around, Hare contributed with an assist on both goals scored by his teammate.
From there the Knights struggled to get much going offensively in the rest of the first period and the shutout continued into the second period. MLC would empty the bench in the second period, as 23 Knights gained minutes on the field.
Goalkeeper
Adam Rosenbaum had two saves on the day, while freshman
Zachary Pausma recorded four saves for MLC.
The Knights will look to regain focus as they have a quick turnaround with their game at Maranatha Baptist tomorrow at 2 p.m.
