St. Paul, MN - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team was defeated
9-0 to St. Catherine's on Friday up in the Twin Cities.
The women fought hard, but the MIAC school won in straight sets, starting with a sweep in doubles. The No. 1 doubles duo of
Britney Prahl and
Katie Schoeneck gave Kelsey Dorr and Anna Luksik a good match, but St. Kate's came out with the 8-4 win in that one.
In No. 2 singles,
McKenzey Crowley battled Luksik with a few points, but would be unable to surpass her and dropped the set 3-6, 2-6.
MLC (0-3) will now have a month off before they play again when they face Crown College on Saturday, March 23. The match will be the first UMAC matchup of the season for the Knights and the two schools will square off in a neutral environment in Owatonna.
