Owatonna, MN - The Martin Luther College women's tennis team had a dominant showing in their
9-0 win over Crown College on Saturday afternoon. The Knights returned to the court for a neutral site match with the Polars and started their sweep off without losing a point in the three doubles matches.
Britney Prahl and
Charis Glende each took their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 to lead the Knights. Meanwhile,
McKenzey Crowley won No. 2 singles 6-4, 6-1 and
Katie Schoeneck won her No. 6 match 6-4, 6-4, fighting off her fellow counterpart on the other side of the net.
Rachel Schoeneck and
Abigail Schewe gained their winning efforts off of tiebreakers. Schoeneck won her No. 5 match 6-1, 7-6 and took the tiebreaking set 7-1, while Schewe finished off her No. 4 opponent 7-6 (7-4 in tiebreaker), 6-1.
With the win, the Knight secured their first victory of the season and now hope to replicate the same performances when they head to Wartburg for a 3:30 p.m. match on Tuesday, April 2.
