New Ulm, MN - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team had a busy day scoring goals against Oak Hills Christian College on Wednesday afternoon defeating the Wolf Pack
8-0.
Freshman
Joshua Krenke extended his team lead in goals this season (3) after he put the Knights on the board in the first period.
The Knights reached a season-high in nearly every statistical category, including goals (8), assists (4), shots (70), and shots on goal (31). MLC controlled the ball on their side and the offense made things easy for the defense and goalkeepers as they got off a good look for most of the game.
Multiple reserves got into the act, especially in the second period and seven different players recorded a goal, including freshman
Adam Wietzke who had a team-best two goals on three shots on goal. Three freshman MLC players notched their first career goals, as
Evan Wolfgram,
Carson Mattek, and
Owen Schultz found the back of the net.
Juniors
Owen Heiman and
Chandler Ross also scored for the Knights, as Heiman made his second goal of the season, while Ross connected on his first career goal.
MLC improves their overall record to 2-6-1 and resumes conference play on Saturday, September 28, when they face Crown in an away game at 4:30 p.m.
