Superior, WI - The MLC men's basketball team continued its conference play on the road at UW-Superior on Saturday. The Knights kept it close, only trailing the Yellowjackets 35-29 at halftime, but UW-Superior had a hot second half offensively and topped the Knights
76-59.
The Yellowjackets shot well in the first half (42 percent), but had an even better go of it in the second half, shooting 52 percent. Meanwhile, MLC struggled from the floor and beyond the arc in the first half.
UW-Superior had a lot of success from inside the key, scoring 42 of its 76 points from the paint. The Yellowjackets were heavily balanced with 28 bench points.
MLC took care of the ball offensively and had an 18-9 turnover advantage over UW-Superior, but couldn't get their shots to drop to stage a comeback in the second half.
Benjamin Pearson (14 points, 7 rebounds) and
Thomas Balge (14 points, 5 rebounds) led the Knights in scoring.
Adam Loberger finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, while
Luke Fix grabbed seven rebounds.
MLC will host Bethany for a 7:15 tip on Wednesday, January 21.
