ST. PAUL, Minn. - Women's soccer saw its season come to a close with a 5-0 loss in the UMAC tournament semifinals against Northwestern on Wednesday evening.
The Knights were unable to keep Northwestern's dynamic forward duo of Marie Kendall and Naomi Meehan under wraps. The pair accounted for all five goals with Meehan scoring a hat trick and Kendall scoring twice while also assisting Meehan on two occasions.
MLC trailed inside the first 10 minutes and eventually trailed 4-0 at halftime.
Katie Schoeneck was the only Knight to register a shot, she had three with two on goal.
The result ends a record-breaking season in several respects. Schoeneck moved her way into the top five in program history in career goals (41) and points (93). Goalkeeper
Maria Vik made 123 saves this season and now has 402 for her career, good for third all-time in program history.
The Knights also had their first winning season since 2013.
