Little River, SC - MLC softball dropped both of its games on Tuesday to King's College (PA),
10-2, and lost
16-4 to Gwynedd Mercy University (PA).
Game 1 King's College 10, MLC 2
Chloe Koschnitzke and
Chloe Berg put on a double steal at the top of the first frame to score MLC's first run. After the Lions scored in the second to tie it 1-1, MLC took the lead back off of an error and a wild pitch, bringing home
Sarah Yonkovich from third base.
The Lions' bats came alive, though in the fourth and fifth innings, scoring eight combined runs in the two innings on nine base hits. Koschnitzke ended with a stolen base and 10 putouts from the catcher position.
Kiara Humann had a lot of action at shortstop, recording seven assists in the infield.
Game 2 Gwynedd Mercy 16, MLC 4 (5 innings)
Game two saw the Griffins explode from the plate in the first three innings, totaling five in the first, three in the second, and seven runs in the third frame. Gwynedd Mercy drew 12 walks and five players had multi-RBI games.
The Knights' scoring came with two runs in the bottom of the third and fifth innings.
Kaylee Pickering and
Katelyn Rassat each drove in a run with RBI singles. Rassat smacked a double to left field in the bottom of the fifth for her second RBI and third hit to lead the MLC offense.
