Appleton, WI - The MLC men's and women's tennis teams fell to Lawrence University this past weekend, with the men losing their match 5-2 and the women 6-1.

The MLC men took No. 2 doubles (Gideon Heins/Isaiah Scharf) 6-3, but the Vikings would claim the other two contests to take the point.

Eli Stern was successful in No. 2 singles, beating his opponent 7-5, 0-6, 10-8, while Scharf won No. 4 singles in a close match, 7-6, 3-6, 10-6.

The MLC women would also get a victory in No. 3 doubles from the duo of Mathilde Benner- Bodenbender and Allie Hinz, 6-2, but Lawrence edged them out in the other two.

Emily Gronholz took her No. 2 singles match 6-1, 6-2.

MLC tennis will be back at it on Saturday, March 28, when they host Nebraska Wesleyan at 10 a.m. on the MLC tennis courts.
