Little River, SC - The MLC softball team made its annual spring break trip down to the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area to play 10 games against non conference opponents. The Knights began their trip playing the U.S. Coast Guard Academy on Sunday and fell to them 5-2.

In the first inning against the Bears, the Knights took an early 1-0 lead after MLC recorded four hits in the inning. Kiara Humann started it off with a lead-off double and the freshman would later score off of an error by the catcher.

In the top of the second, the Coast Guard took the lead after getting three runs on two hits. Each team would bring in a run in the fourth frame with MLC scoring off of another error by the Bears.

The Coast Guard would add on one more run in the fifth and held on to their 5-2 lead from there to take the first game.

MLC finished with seven hits as Humann led the team in that category (2).

MLC's second game that was scheduled with Albion Unviersity is now postponed due to rain. There is a chance that the game will be rescheduled during the Knights' time in South Carolina.
