Owatonna, MN - The 2026 MLC women's tennis team finished its season today with a home match that was switched to Owatonna. In the match, MLC took on Northwestern, which defeated the Knights
6-1.
Despite the sweep in doubles play and five points from singles victories, MLC earned an impressive win in No. 1 singles from
Britney Prahl, who wrapped up her collegiate career a third-set tiebreaker victory 6-1, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4.
The Knights were very close to achieving another point in their favor with
Rebekah Schroeder's effort in No. 4 singles, which ended 6-4, 4-6, 0-1 (7-10) loss.
MLC women's tennis finished third in the UMAC North Standings with a 6-9 overall, 3-2 conference record.
On the men's side, the Knights fell
7-0 to the Eagles. MLC gave it a close call in No. 1 doubles (
Johannes Bourman/Eli Stern) as they fell 4-6.
Abraham Schlomer kept it competitive as well in No. 5 singles, 4-6, 3-6.
MLC men's tennis will play again on Tuesday, April 28, at 4 p.m. at home against Buena Vista University.
