Greg Holzhueter

Greg Holzhueter enters his seventh season as the MLC Head Men's Basketball Coach in 2022-23 and is looking to continue to move the program forward in future seasons.

MLC is coming off a 5-21 mark in the 2021-22 season, which included a 2-12 record in UMAC play.

The Knights finished the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season with a 2-11 overall record, while going 1-7 in the UMAC.

Holzhueter's third season was his best at the helm of the MLC program as the team finished with a 7-18 record overall and 4-12 UMAC mark.

In 2017-18, Hozlhueter's young team featured zero seniors and only two juniors and finished 4-21 as they doubled their win total from the previous season.

In his first season with the Knights, Holzhueter started to rebuild the program with a young team that battled injuries on the way to a 2-23 season.

Holzhueter took over the Knights after a three-year stint as the head basketball coach at Bethany Lutheran College, where he compiled a record of 23-52. In UMAC play, the Vikings finished with a record of 20-24 in Holzhueter's three seasons.

Prior to his time as head coach, Holzhueter served two years as a lead assistant at BLC.

Holzhueter graduated from MLC in 2011. During his four years on campus, Holzhueter was a four-year starter on the football, basketball and baseball teams, earning All-UMAC honors in all three sports.

On the hardwood, Holzhueter finished his career as the school record holder in career assists (370) and steals (170). He ranked second in career free throws (319), and seventh in career points (1,191), and was named First Team All-UMAC in each of his final three seasons.

Holzhueter also has his name in the career record books in football, where he finished his career ranked first in program history in career touchdown passes (46) and completion percentage (56.4), and ranked inside the top five in numerous other passing and rushing statistics. In baseball, he finished his career with the most hits in program history (147).

Holzhueter also serves as the Academic Success Center Director at MLC.
