Huebner

Paul Huebner

Paul Huebner enters his fifth season as the head football coach at Martin Luther College, having taken over the Knights program in 2022.

A 2006 graduate of MLC, Huebner earned degrees in elementary education and secondary mathematics education while emphasizing coaching, making his return to New Ulm a meaningful homecoming.

Before returning to his alma mater, Huebner spent 16 years teaching and coaching at Shoreland Lutheran High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He served as an assistant football coach from 2006-10 before becoming the varsity head coach from 2011-22. During his tenure, he also served for five years as a Region Representative for the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association, helping support and advance high school football throughout the state.

Huebner believes football is far more than a game. He is passionate about using the sport to develop young men of Christian character who lead with humility, serve others and pursue excellence in every area of life. At Martin Luther College, he finds particular joy in mentoring student-athletes who are preparing for public ministry, helping them grow as leaders whose influence will extend well beyond the football field.

Paul and his wife, Heather, have three children: Kyla, Braxton and Lukas.
