MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's soccer team lost 3-2 at North Central on Saturday.
The Knights fell behind quickly, as the Rams scored twice in the first 9:04 of the game.
MLC would respond, however, as
Jenna Maurer scored goals in the 16th and 22nd minutes to tie the game at 2-2 heading into halftime. Her two goals give her a team-best nine this season.
The two teams remained tied nearly 30 minutes into the second half before Dakotah Sparrman scoerd the game-winner for the Rams in the 75th minute to give NCU the win.
MLC outshot the Rams 15-7 in the game, and finished with six shots on goal.
Maurer scored on both her shots, while
Hailey Johnson led MLC with four total shots. She also added an assist on Maurer's first goal of the game.
MLC fell to 2-1-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the UMAC in defeat. NCU improved to 7-7 on the season and 4-5 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Tuesday, October 13, when they travel to Bethany Lutheran for a game scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
