MANKATO, Minn. - The Marin Luther College women's soccer team lost 1-0 in overtime at Bethany Lutheran College on Tuesday.
BLC's Ali Mix broke the scoreless tie in the 100th minute, scoring unassisted past MLC keeper
Julia Barthels to win the game for the Vikings.
Barthels stopped the first ten shots she faced before the game-winner, giving the Knights a chance to win the game in regulation or overtime.
The Knights were credited with four shots on goal, with
Rachel Naumann,
Martha Balge,
Danielle Hall and
Hailey Johnson each finishing with one.Â
MLC fell to 2-11-1 overall and 1-6-1 in UMAC play with the loss. BLC improved to 8-6-2 on the season and 5-1-1 in conference play following the win.
The loss continues a frustrating string of close defeats for the Knights this season, as they fell to 0-6 overall (and 0-3 in conference play) in games decided by one goal.
The Knights will return to action on Saturday, October 17, when they host UW-Superior. That game will start at 1 p.m.
