Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Slow Start Costly in Loss to UWS

NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team lost 6-0 to UW-Superior in the home finale Saturday afternoon.

The Yellowjackets jumped on top from the opening whistle, scoring 22 seconds into the game to take an early lead.

UWS would continue to keep the pressure on the Knights, scoring twice more in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into the break.

MLC came out of the half with a different line-up, but was still unable to break through the UWS defense for a goal to get back into the game. The Yellowjackets were able to put the game away with three more goals in the half to finish with the final margin.

Caleb King stopped eight of the 13 shots he faced in net for MLC, while Colin Bahmer led MLC's offensive effort with a pair of shots.

The Knights fell to 6-7-1 overall and 3-5-1 in UMAC play with the loss, while the Yellowjackets improved to 12-4 on the season and 6-2 in league play with the win.

MLC will return to action on Monday, October 19, when it travels to Augsburg for a game scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
