ASHLAND, Wis. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team swept Northland 3-0 by the scores of 25-13, 25-21, and 25-15 on Saturday.
The win was the second consecutive in conference play for the Knights, with the first coming against Bethany Lutheran on Tuesday, September 29.
The Knights dominated throughout the match, hitting .202 for the match while holding Northland to a .010 attack percentage.
Rylee Weisensel was the top hitter for MLC with eight kills, while
Kira Grev and
Jade St. Germaine each finished with seven kills apiece.
MLC was also responsible for forcing six of Northland's 22 hitting errors thanks to six blocks in the match.
Jenna Miller led the team with three, while Katie Zietlow finished with two blocks.
In the back row,
Emily Neeb finished with a team-high 13 digs, while
Heidi Moldenhauer led the team with 21 assists.
The Knights improved to 3-15 this season and 2-1 in UMAC play with the win. Northland fell to 4-11 overall and 0-3 in league play in defeat.
MLC will return to action on Tuesday, October 6, when it hosts Gustavus Adolphus College. That match will start at 7 p.m.
