NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College volleyball team opened Homecoming with a 3-0 sweep of Northland College by the scores of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-18 on Saturday.

Emily Neeb was the story in the match, recording her 1,000th career dig to become the ninth player in program history to reach that milestone.
Neeb entered the match in need of five to reach that mark, and finished with nine for the match as the Knights held the Lumberjills to a .000 attack percentage for the match.Â
The Knights controlled the match from the start, running out to big leads in each set on the way to the sweep.
MLC hit .287 overall, with
Grace Schultz leading the way with eight kills and an attack percentage of .500.
Jade St. Germaine led the team with 11 kills, while
Kira Grev added nine kills to go with a team-high 11 digs.
MLC improved its record to 8-11 overall and 3-0 in UMAC play, and also moved its winning streak to four straight matches. Northland fell to 3-13 on the season and 0-3 in conference play in defeat.
The Knights will return to action on Monday, October 3, when they travel to Macalester for a match scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
